Superintendent's Message

May 19, 2020

Dear Madison Community,

We hope that this message finds you well. The district has sent out a survey for input on our Continuity of Learning Plan—student contacts should have received a link to this survey at their personal email address. It has been approximately 40 virtual school days since the implementation of our Continuity of Learning Plan. We are seeking feedback on what's working for you, what requires our attention, and what needs to be adapted.  We are also asking a few questions regarding returning to school and parents’ comfort level on a brick and mortar (live / in-person) return. We are also exploring a hybrid return, as well as a full virtual return in the fall. Please provide us as much detail as possible so we can better serve our students. If you have not received an email with the survey, please follow the link below to submit your responses.

We are also establishing a back to school task force which includes parents, administrators, teachers, ancillary staff, and support staff. We are looking at all possible avenues to best safely serve our students. We want to assure you that our team has worked tirelessly in supporting our students, staff, and families and will continue to do so, to provide the best quality education possible for our families. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact our building principals or myself to ensure you are heard.  Please stay safe, and continue to reference our district website for the latest information we send out.

Regards,
Angel M. Abdulahad, Superintendent

Practice and reinforce good prevention habits with your family

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
